In case you guys haven’t heard of Project X Zone, it should definitely be on your radar after this. Project X Zone is a Strategy RPG/Fighting game hybrid of sorts, with loads of licensed characters from SEGA, Namco Bandai and Capcom.
The interesting thing is that many of these characters are very close to their original designs, most notably Dante from Devil May Cry and X/Megaman.
Considering that many people are fans of their original designs and not their more recent appearances, it’s nice to see them represented as fans would want them to be.
Battles in Project X Zone begin on a tactical grid, your party’s formation will affect how the direct combat turns out. After initiating a battle, you go into a traditional 2D fighting game layout and you can do up to five basic attack combos.
There are special attacks like the Support Attack, which calls in a nearby ally, Critical Hit, which is initiated by connecting next attack while juggling opponents, and the Cross Hit, which freezes enemies when characters are attacking from multiple angles.
The game was released on the 25th of June in the Americas, it hits Europe on July 5th.
